How much do you know about glass!
(I) Float glass
Float glass refers to ordinary flat white glass for construction or other general purposes. It is made of quartz sand, soda ash, and limestone as the main raw materials and is made after high-temperature melting. In addition to being directly used for general building doors and windows, flat glass is also the base material for processing certain special glasses.
(II) Other glass
1. Coated glass/Reflective glasses
It is a flat glass that can control sunlight, absorb a large amount of infrared radiation energy, and maintain good light transmittance. It is used for doors, windows and exterior walls, and is suitable for hot areas.
It refers to a type of glass that has both high heat reflection ability and good light transmittance of flat glass, also known as coated glass or mirror glass. Suitable for buildings with air conditioning
3. Insulating glass
It is a high-strength, high-airtightness adhesive around two or more layers of flat glass to seal it with a hollow aluminum alloy partition frame, and the frame is filled with desiccant to keep the air in the empty space between the glass highly dry. It has good thermal insulation, heat insulation and sound insulation properties.
4. Wired glass
It is formed by heating ordinary flat glass, polished glass, or colored glass to a red-hot softened state, and then pressing a preheated metal mesh or metal wire into the middle of the glass.
5. Laminated glass
It is a composite glass product with a flat or curved surface formed by sandwiching a soft and tough transparent film between two or more pieces of flat glass and bonding them under pressure and heating.
6. Tempered glass
It refers to ordinary flat glass that has undergone secondary processing and tempering treatment. It is called tempered glass. Its strength is several times higher than that of ordinary glass and it is not easy to hurt people after breaking.
7. Safety glass
Including tempered glass, wired glass, and laminated glass are called safety glass.
8. Fireproof glass
Fireproof glass is a special glass that can maintain its integrity and heat insulation in the prescribed fire resistance test.
9. Glass bricks
Glass bricks are solid or hollow masonry blocks made of glass. It has the characteristics of high strength, good transparency, heat insulation, sound insulation, and fire resistance. It is a high-end decorative material that can play a structural role.
10. Glass mosaic
Glass mosaic is a small single mosaic tile made of glass raw materials or waste glass as the base material, and is glued to the asbestos material on the paving paper according to the specified lines. It has the characteristics of good chemical stability, strong anti-staining, and strong bonding with cement. Glass mosaic is mainly used as the interior and exterior wall finishing of buildings.
Well, these are the types of glass we have at this stage, and there are probably only so many. Do you find that your little knowledge has increased a lot?
