Mirrors are glass or metal products with regular reflective properties, surface polished and coated with metal reflective films, made of glass, silver, etc. as the main materials. They have the advantages of high reflectivity, low dispersion, and corrosion resistance. Mirrors are divided into plane mirrors and curved mirrors, among which curved mirrors are concave mirrors and convex mirrors. The mirrors commonly used in our lives are dressing mirrors, which are made of silver mirrors. Silver mirrors can also be called silver-plated glass mirrors, waterproof mirrors, silver-plated mirrors, mirror glass, mirror plate glass, etc.

Processing technology of silver mirrors:

1. Raw material preparation: The raw materials of silver mirrors are mainly pure silver and glass. Pure silver needs to be purified and cast to make silver plates, while glass needs to be cleaned, cut, edged, etc. to make lenses.

2. Silver plating and copper plating: The surface of the silver plate is chemically treated to form a uniform layer of silver (copper) atoms on its surface, and then the lens is placed on the silver plate for vacuum silver plating to form a layer of silver film and copper mold protective layer on the surface of the lens.

3. Annealing and curing: Put the silver-plated lens into a high-temperature furnace for annealing to eliminate the stress on the lens surface and improve the flatness and stability of the lens. The first layer is corrosion-resistant lacquer and dried, the second layer is waterproof and hardened lacquer and dried, and metal atoms are infrared cured.

4. Mirror back paint: Use high-quality back paint for uniform coating, mirror back paint is corrosion-resistant, moisture-resistant and waterproof.

5. Edge grinding: Grind the annealed lens to make the edge of the lens flat and smooth for easy installation and use.

6. Cleaning and inspection: Clean and inspect the edged lens to ensure that the lens surface is clean, flawless, and meets quality standards.

The characteristics of silver mirrors mainly include the following aspects:

1. High reflectivity: The reflectivity of silver mirrors is as high as 99%, which is much higher than that of ordinary glass lenses. It can better reflect light and provide a clear field of view.

2. Low dispersion: The dispersion coefficient of silver mirror is very low, only about one-tenth of that of ordinary glass lenses, which can effectively avoid chromatic aberration caused by different refractive indices of light of different wavelengths, and provide a more realistic visual effect.

3. Corrosion resistance: The silver film and back paint on the surface of the silver mirror have good corrosion resistance, which can maintain the reflectivity and clarity of the lens for a long time and extend the service life of the lens.

4. Easy to process: The processing technology of silver mirror is relatively simple, and it can be produced by traditional glass processing technology, with high production efficiency and low cost.

5. Environmental protection: No harmful substances are used in the production process of silver mirror, which meets environmental protection requirements and is an environmentally friendly material.

Silver mirror is commonly used in solar concentrators, decoration, bathroom, home furnishing and other fields. It is a high-quality and high-performance mirror material. As people's requirements for the quality of life continue to increase, the application range of silver mirrors will become more and more extensive.
